HOW TO USE FUSION METASEARCH

Simply put your search terms in the main search bar.

Then select from the many options.

ADVANCED BOOLEAN TERMS - This search engine supports "AND", "NOT" and "OR" when used in conjunction with search terms, as in 'boxer NOT dog'.

NUMBER OF RESULTS - The number of results is set to 20, as a default, but this can be any number between 1 and 100.

AGGREGATED RESULTS - is SELECTED by default. When aggregation is selected all three engines will be active. Results from Google, Blekko and Bing will be combined (aggregated) into a single list of results ordered by occurrence and rank.

NON-AGGREGATED - You may see individual search engine results by selecting this option. Columned places all three engines in a side by side comparison.

CLUSTER RESULTS - is a group of search results based on similarity of words in the Snippets. This will be slower in returning a result, so if you wish to use this it will take longer to return results

DATABASE STORAGE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADMINISTRATOR LEVEL USER ONLY.

QUERY EXPANSION - This allows for synonym replacement and expansion of your query. Its purpose is to focus or narrow your search criteria.
Fusion Metasearch has allowed you to select as many synonyms as you wish, however the more you choose the few results you will return.
Simply put your search term(s) in the "Query Expansion" text box and click "EXPAND QUERY".
If you are looking to use this function, don't bother entering the previous setting as they will all be available on the Query Expansion Page

METRICS - The metrics page will provide you with a complete list of metrics of the Fusion Metasearch.
These metrics are calculated against a Gold Standard set of queries and are compared with Google, Blekko and Bing
